Event Planning & Design
I did most of the design and event planning for my wedding in 2025. As a UX designer, I couldn't find a pre-made wedding website template that fit my needs and was up to my standards, so I designed my own. I also used my background in design to create a custom invitation suite, ceremony programs, and a variety of signs for the wedding. In addition, I DIYed the flowers and many other decor items.

Invitation Suite
I designed the invitation suite for the wedding. The suite included save the date cards and formal invitations. The formal invitations were made up of an invite, a details sleeve and a rehearsal dinner card.

Wedding Website
I created a custom wedding website for the wedding. I was not able to find an existing template through any of the typical wedding website providers that fit our needs, so I created my own.
The website home page features a header area with key information about the wedding, followed by a quick links section that I added as the wedding got closer. This section provided easy access to our shared photo album for guests to upload any pictures from the wedding, and a link to Betting on the Wedding, which we used as a fun guessing game on the day of the wedding.
Beyond that, there is a save the date section, featuring an "Add to calendar" button that lets users download an .ics file to add to their calendar.
The final section of the home page is a collection of links to the other pages of the website, including the wedding party page, our registry, our story, and our engagement photos.

Wedding Website FAQ
One unique thing I added to our wedding website was a FAQ page with an option to submit your own questions.
After the list of FAQs, there is a banner to submit a question if it was not answered above.
Once you click the button in the banner, a pop-up shows up to allow you to submit your question. We also added an optional name field in case anyone wanted us to reach out to them directly with an answer.

Wedding Signage
I designed and created many signs for the wedding. In the entryway, there was a welcome sign and signs for the favor station and photo guestbook station.
I also created a seating chart sign that was displayed during cocktail hour, with guest names sorted alphabetically so they could easily find what table they would be at for the reception.
I also created a set of bar signs as well to highlight our signature drinks and provide a menu of what other drink options were stocked. This started at the outdoor bar during cocktail hour, then moved inside to the indoor bar during the reception.
The signature drinks were named after our dogs (Luna-berry lemonade and Spicy Jack-arita), and the sign I made featured illustrations I created of the dogs.
All of the signs started as blank clear acrylic arches. On the smaller signs, I got the white words printed on them, and for the larger ones I ordered 3D acrylic cutouts of the lettering and placed them myself. On all of the signs, I painted the backsides to match our wedding colors, which gave the signs a glossy finish from the front.

Wedding Program
I designed the wedding program for the ceremony. It included the order of events for the day, starting with the ceremony, then cocktail hour, and finally the reception.
The next page highlighted the people in the wedding party.
On the back of the program, we included QR codes for the shared photo album and the Betting on the Wedding app. It also featured a thank you note and a reminder to sign the guestbook and take some wedding favors home.

Tablescape
The tablescapes featured centerpieces that I created. I combined faux fern plants with bouquet stems and put each in a terracotta pot.
I created custom place cards for the guests, which were color coded based on which meal they selected when they sent in their RSVP.
Each table also had sign with a QR code for the shared photo album and a table number sign. I selected burnt orange napkins and ivory tablecloths to match the wedding colors.
I also added a wedding activity book and a bag of crayons to each kid's seat to provide some extra entertainment during the speeches.

DIY Florals
I created a lot of DIY floral projects for the wedding.
In addition to the table centerpieces, I created a huge floral broken arch installation that was used as a backdrop during the ceremony and then repurposed as decor for the reception as well.
I also made the groomspeople's boutonnieres from scratch as well.

Stained Glass Card Box
I created a custom floral, stained glass-inspired card box for the wedding.
To create this effect, I used gold relief paint to trace the outlines of a bunch of floral designs on laminated paper. Then I used stained glass paints to fill in the colored areas of the florals. After they dried, I carefully peeled them off an transferred them to the inside of the card box while they were still sticky.
I repeated this process until all sides of the card box were covered in flowers.
Wedding Binder
The wedding binder I created was the go-to document for information about the wedding. The binder included contact information for vendors and key members of the wedding party. It also included specific guides on how to set up each area of the wedding with the intended decor and layouts.
The binder also featured timelines to help the day run smoothly, and seating chart information in a variety of formats.
A physical copy of the binder was available at the venue and a digital copy was sent out to everyone helping to set up and execute the wedding.
